Nintendo Throws One of Its Biggest Sales Ever, With 30 Percent Off Switch Games
Nintendo is throwing one of the largest promotions in company history. The Customer Appreciation Sale runs September 12 through 26 and takes 30 percent off dozens of Nintendo Switch digital games and bundles, with discounts on select physical games, downloadable content, accessories and apparel. The deals span the Nintendo eShop, the Nintendo Store and participating retailers, Nintendo of America said in its announcement.
The unusual part is how Nintendo explained the timing. The company said tariff related refunds helped make the discounts possible, noting it absorbed most tariff related costs itself. That follows months of legal questions over money returned to companies after certain tariffs were struck down, and in a July court filing Nintendo said shoppers received exactly what they bargained and paid for at the advertised prices.
For players, this is the rare Nintendo sale that covers the whole ecosystem at once. Nintendo rarely discounts first party games this deeply, so a 30 percent cut across dozens of digital titles plus hardware adjacent gear is the kind of event that only comes around every few years. The two week window gives everyone time to compare, but the most popular titles tend to move fast once word spreads.
